Being a part of Great Northern Riding Club (GNRC) these last 12 years has been one of the most rewarding, exhilirating and memorable experiences of my life. From horse camp to horse shows I have made so many memories and lifelong friendships thanks to the family atmosphere of GNRC. Through all my time at GNRC I have also learned not only how to love horses or riding but also to love all the things that come with caring for horses; even cleaning stalls! I am currently a college senior studying animal science with an equine emphasis and anticipating an acceptance to veterinary school for this fall. I know that my experience at GNRC has been integral in instilling a true love for horses in me that I will carry into my future career of a veterinarian some day.

I first attended GNRC's summer day camp when I was 10 years old. I was looking for a way to satisfy my intense craving for horses that had struck 4 years prior that mere weekly lessons would not satisfy. What I got was entire summers immersed in all the horses I could dream of. However, after attending camp for 6 summers, I found that I was walking away with many more lessons than horseback riding. From Kim Simac's camp, I learned the great value of teamwork through working with horses, friends, and even the responsibility of helping with our yearly horse shows. Horse's don't braid themselves at 4 in the morning on horse show day after all. I learned how to work with my friends (and it can be difficult to get along with so many young girls over long periods of time) and that I could also be a leader myself by helping younger campers. After GNRC, I followed my passion for horses to an Equine Entrepreneurship degree at Lake Erie College in Ohio and I will be graduating in April 2012 with already some bright job prospects before me. From the values I learned as a child, teachers and employers alike are impressed by my hard-working attitude and the willingness to do whatever it takes to pursue my dreams. I wouldn't be where I am today without the fabulous learning environment I was blessed to find in Eagle River at GNRC.

GNRC is the best thing EVER! I've learned so many things about riding and taking care of the horses. You make so many new friends and memories. Once you start riding or going to the summer camp you can't wait to go back the next year! Right now I'm looking forward to summer 2012 week camp & day camp and to see what else is in store for us! "cough cough" Paige "cough" (:

I have been going to Great Northern Riding for 11 years. I have learned so much from GNRC! I learned how to care for horses and ride. Everyone one at GNRC is like family. They are always there to support and help you. Going to different horse shows has created so many amazing memories and life lessons. I got my horse Belle from GNRC when I was eleven years old and she was about a year old. Belle is now 9 years old and is part of my family and will always be. I am a freshman a UW-Milwaukee and am part of their equestrian team. I use everything I have learned from GNRC in those shows with the team too. GNRC has impacted my life and I have loved every minute of it. I have learned so much from them and will always continue to learn. Every summer has something new to look forward to and get excited to see everyone again and ride with them.

Horse camp is an experience I look forward to every summer. There are so many horses and new people to meet. When I go, camp turns into a place I know I can just relax and have fun. The best part is that I can relax around my good friends and my favorite horses.
