Much
smaller than traditional summer camps where your child
can sometimes be just a
number. At GNRC horse camp each student is a part
of the girl’s
team where life on an operating farm becomes their opportunity
to learn a wide variety of expertise.
For over 25 years Kim Simac has been training students from
the beginner level to advanced Midwest competitions with
great success. Openings to Simac’s summer sessions are
limited and
Early registration is advised.

The
three summer sessions will also give each student
the opportunity to participate in a schooling show
held on the premise and one travel show. Further
information will be provided at time of registration
and circuit information can be found at www.northwoodshunterjumpercircuit.com
Training
and studies are focused primarily on the equine,
stable management, grooming, horse nutrition and
equipment.
Daily
girls care for the horses that live on the farm
and become great friends with each and every one
of them.
Horses
live for an average of about 25 years. Every horse
has a story, a history, and
girls
learn just what each horse has experienced. |

Almost
all young girls LOVE HORSES, but learning firsthand
the work and
daily care each of these fine animals requires, teaches
all attendees lifelong skills of responsibility,
leadership, dedication and perseverance.
Girls
who attend these sessions go home with an earned
respect
for their own personal achievements acquired
at these summer sessions.
While
living on the Kula Vista Ranch girls will also
be introduced to:
- Raising
Poultry and Beef Cows
- Organic
Gardening—
Canning
and Processing
- Designing
and Sewing Classes
from start to finish
- Recipe
Creating and Cooking from scratch

These classes will give girls a wide base of “Back to Basic” skills
and techniques that are valuable and interesting.
Of course -
great emphasis is put on proper nutrition and exercise.
The hard work of caring for
horses and farm chores will guarantee your
child will not be sitting wasting a beautiful summer day, watching
TV! Swimming, biking, organized games and a few
opportunities to go on field
trips to area attractions are always scheduled. From dawn to dark,
girls will be busy making memories that will make
your selection of our summer
camp program a valuable investment in your child’s future.
Please
contact Kim Simac or Lauren Hughes for any questions regarding our
summer programs at Great Northern Riding Club.
